I've let the projects get too big and choke me. So a small one this time: I save a small seedling growing at the foot of the front steps a few weeks back and found a good pot at a junk shop that should be all I need.
OK, un-pot it. I don't know what it is; Manuka or Totara. I hope the first.
According to http://www.wikihow.com/Create-a-Bonsai-Tree the pot should have drain holes. This I have.
Put gravel in the bottom and then soil.
Tree seedling goes in.
Soil carefully added and pressed down.
Moss added.
Rocks added.
Post apocalypse wreckage added.
Make a wooden stand.
And finished.
The moss looks great. Hopefully it will swallow the wrecked toy hummer a bit . I'd have liked some better rocks but these are OK and maybe I can address that when it gets re-potted in a year or so.

2009-03 Record Player Arm Lifter
A small automaton with an optical sensor to lift the arm of a record player. I'd like to use junk sources for this and targeted a 3" floppy drive to provide the parts.

2009-01 Re-laminate Writing Desk
My old oak writing desk has an oak laminated front which is peeling away after being stored in a damp place. I'd like to experiment with laminating wood and this would be a good starting project.
[1] Remove the laminate.
[2] Stick it back on.
