2026-09 Cody Kite

I have wanted to try a Cody Kite for a while. I found a spool of kite string in a junk shop and took it as a sign.

Cool label and only $NZ 4.50. Wow.

Looked around and found a one piece material plan  for a Cody and it's a small one too.

Had an old disposable $2 table cloth and some bamboo skewers.

Here we see the start with the string proudly displayed.

And here it is built.

The bridle is a trail on these jobs: One on each side and the third connection them.

I should include the plan I found...

Great aye?  See the bridle. Himmm.
Anyway , here it is in flight....

At the Waikato University park like grounds that is just across the road from me. Wid of course died away to nothing and I only got enough of a flight to check the rigging etc. Looks good and is twitchy. Was expecting a load lifting design to be more stable. I liked flying it though and just as I packed up the wind picked up real nice, but I wasn't fooled and left anyway.
